the point i'm getting at is with the library of games the GBA has, i've hardly even touched a fraction or know what i'm getting into even. i remember not knowing how to play tetris on the regular gameboy when i was barely a toddler, i've played other games like mario land 6 gold coins, donkey kong, donkey kong country (final battle), and the only 2 i've beat were mario vs donkey kong and zelda link to the past (first time i'd played that one, good times).
that said that certain way doesn't have to be "on a bigger screen", there are other obvious examples like no required charging or battery changing, perhaps you wanted to use a gamecube controller to play the games or just a regular controller in general.įor me? i've never owned a GBA but i've played some games. I feel this is going to be a difficult product for me to review as it's not actually a game itself, it's a means to play many games in a certain way. The case the disc came in was slightly damaged during transport, but it’s just a normal CD case - easily replaced - and the disc itself is fine and works as intended.Īll in all, especially with the current sale, I’d say this is a pretty good option for people looking for a Gameboy Player in the NTSC region. As is tradition with Nintendo cartridges, I did have to give the port and game a blow to get it loading properly, but that’s most likely due to disuse of the games on my part, and after that the only issue I noticed was a minor aliasing issue during the intro of Pokémon Ruby, which I imagine is a fairly normal result of blowing up a game on such a small screen to fit on a television.
